Volunteer Opportunities

line

Many families often ask how they can be involved in our program. We came up with several committees that parents can participate in after preschool hours or on weekends and provide valuable assistance for our teachers.

The committees are staffed by parent volunteers. The preschool covers the cost of supplies. Committees are listed below.

Literacy and FUNdraising Committee

This committee is in charge of many projects, from organizing our annual Book Fair, repairing classroom books, to the various FUNdraisers we have each year.

Dramatic Play Committee

Members of this committee gather items to support theme-inspired dramatic play in the classrooms. Settings, including buildings, dress-up clothes and other props, rotate through the various classes.

Visual Arts Committee

Our program has an extensive file of pictures that coordinate with our quarterly themes. Parents continually add to the picture files that enhance the classrooms. Teachers use these files to support their weekly themes. Story-In-A-Can is a device that is used to augment storytelling with various props and devices that make it a visual as well as verbal experience for the children.

Social Activities Committee

Throughout the year, we participate in various social service projects. This committee coordinates our efforts. We have Holiday Food Drives, Pennies for the Poor, a Blanket & Coat Collection in October, and we participate in the Giving Tree during the holiday season. It is important to us to give back to the community that has welcomed us so warmly.
